Believers

We’re believers. Humans create reality through belief. It is what we do. It is how we are wired. And we think there is one true reality. But all reality is belief based and no belief is true.

No belief is true.

But the stories that we tell, the beliefs that we hold, are real. Because that’s what real means. Real just means: ‘the stories that we believe are true right now’. Those stories have effects, because we believe them. The story of marriage for example, we believe in marriage, so it’s real. We believe in traffic laws, so they are real. We believe in Coca-Cola (the company), so it is real. All these stories have effects, because we believe them, and that makes them real.

The effects are strong even though the stories aren’t true. We look back through history and are amused at what people used to believe. Completely missing the fact that we believe just as much nonsense now, equally untrue, and equally real!

Coca-Cola is just as real as a medieval witch, just as untrue, and the effects are just as strong.

Reality isn’t true. It’s obviously real. And it’s definitely belief based.
